St. Leo Lime Paint is a pure, mineral-based paint crafted from lime, water, and mineral colour pigments. Free from plastics, microplastics, and plasticisers, it offers a cleaner, healthier alternative for interior spaces.

Its natural composition provides several benefits beyond aesthetics. Highly breathable, it helps improve indoor air quality by absorbing CO₂ as it cures. Lime Paint is naturally antibacterial and fire-resistant, and it promotes the free movement of moisture through walls - preventing trapped humidity, reducing condensation, and offering strong resistance to mould.

Lime Paint is easy to apply and adheres beautifully to a wide range of substrates. Once dry, it reveals a deep matt finish that is both washable and long-lasting, making it suitable for both contemporary homes and heritage restorations.

With its minimal environmental footprint and refined mineral finish, Lime Paint brings a quiet, earthy sophistication to any room. Its finish evolves subtly over time, offering a timeless, grounded aesthetic that enhances the character and atmosphere of the space.

Application

Lime Paint dries quickly once applied. Work swiftly and maintain a wet edge while painting to ensure a uniform appearance. We recommend applying two layers of Lime Paint for best results. Lime Paint is mixed from limestone, which is naturally highly alkaline. Wear protective equipment to protect your skin and eyes.

Shadow Finish

Using a soft, 50-100mm paint brush, apply Lime Paint in short, multidirectional strokes to achieve a layered Shadow Finish. This application lends a cloudy, deep matt- and long-lasting finish characterised by soft tonality and earthiness.

Pillar Finish

Using a soft, 50-100 mm paint brush, apply Lime Paint in vertical strokes. Begin by placing long strokes in an upward and downward motion, placing strokes next to each other. Then, begin a new cluster of strokes. Connect the two clusters by painting vertical strokes in between, which ensures a cohesive appearance.

Canvas Finish

Some Lime Paint colours can also be applied with a roller, which lends a uniform, smooth surface. Application with a roller is only recommended for our lightest colours: Still White, Porcelain, and Stone Dust. Due to the fast-drying nature of Lime Paint, other colours with higher pigmentation would leave roller marks when applied with a roller.
