All our paints and plasters er crafted from premium, locally sourced ingredients and comply with all the European standards.

Bio Paint: Crafted from ecological minerals and biodegradable ingredients, Bio Paint contains no added acrylics, plastics, microplastics, or plasticisers, containing very low VOC emission. Bio Paint is a truly ecological alternative to standard acrylic-based paints, it is highly breathable and offering excellent moisture regulation.

Lime Paint: Lime Paint is a pure mineral paint. Lime Paint is water-based, free from harmful solvents, and formulated with no added plastics, microplastics or plasticisers. Thanks to its mineral composition, Lime Paint is highly breathable, humidity-regulating, mould- and fire-resistant. As it cures, the paint absorbs CO₂, helping to purify the air and support a healthier indoor environment. It has very low VOC emissions.

Marbel Paint: Our Marble Paint is waterborne, solvent-free and has very low VOC emissions.

Original Pigments Paint + Wood & Metal Paint: Our Original Pigments and wood and metal paint are sustainable and water-based. It is free from harmful solvents and has very low VOC emissions.

Original Pigments Gloss 15, Original Pigments Gloss 40, Wood & Metal Paints: Suitable for rough interior surfaces including woodwork, cabinets and pre-treated metal. Surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth and not transmit any loose particles. We recommend using a primer or undercoat for at more uniform finish.

Unfortunately our paint is not suitable for exterior surfaces.

Can I paint my bathroom/wet room with your paint?

Your bathroom can be painted with all colours from all our collections, but our paint is not suitable on walls in shower enclosures or direct water contact surfaces.

Which tools do you recommend using?

Dolomite Plaster: We recommend using a wide polyester plaster roller for application of the plaster, and a wide (35-45 cm) metal trowel for smoothing out the plaster on walls and ceilings. For edges and corners, we recommend using a narrower (15 cm) metal trowel. Remember to bend the edges of the trowels to prevent scratching the plastered surfaces during the following steps.

Original Pigments: Using a medium piled roller, brush or airless spray, apply two coats of paint.

Marble Paint: For a shadow finish, we recommend applying the paint with a wide roller and then working the wet surface with a brush in short, expressive, multi directional strokes to create movement in the finish. The shadow effect results in a tonal surface where subtle variations reveal the depth of the colour as light shifts across it. We recommend using a 100-150mm block brush and applying two coats of paint. Marble Paint can also be applied in 2 coats by roller only. This technique imparts a naturally dappled effect that gives textural depth when viewed up close, while the entire surface appears more uniformly structured from afar.

Lime Paint: Lime Paint comes to life through expressive brushwork, revealing a layered, artisanal texture with a deep matte finish. Lighter colours will appear with subtle tonal variations, while darker colours will appear with more pronounced tonal variations. We recommend using a 100-150mm block brush and applying two coats of paint. For a deep matte uniform finish, Lime Paint can be applied in 2 coats by using a wide medium piled roller. However, due to its mineral character, Lime Paint dries quickly and dark colours can therefore be difficult to apply by roller without visible roller marks. We recommend rolling only the lighter shades of Still White, Porcelain White, and Stone Dust.

Bio Paint: We recommend using a medium piled roller or a brush and apply two coats of paint ensuring not to apply too thick coats.

Wood & Metal: We recommend using a medium piled roller or brush, apply two coats of paint.

We recommend cleaning your tools with warm water, removing as much paint as possible from brushes and rollers immediately after use.

Can I spray your paint?

Our Bio Paint, Lime Paint and Original Pigments Paint can be applied with an airless sprayer. For our Lime Paint we recommend spraying with 135 bar pressure using a spraying nozzle size: 415-517. For our Bio Paint We recommend spraying with 200 bar pressure using a spraying nozzle size: 419.

You cannot spraypaint our Marble Paint due to its subtle textural appearance.

How do I prepare my paint and walls for painting?

- Stir thoroughly before and during use to ensure a good distribution of pigments. We recommend mixing buckets together if one bucket is not enough for coverage of a continuous surface.

- Always check for colour accuracy prior to application. St Leo will not be liable for decorating costs caused by applying an incorrect colour.

- Always maintain a wet edge when painting and complete a continuous surface to avoid undesirable brush or roller patterning marks.

Surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth and not transmit any loose particles. Semi glossy and glossy surfaces should be lightly sanded to achieve a physical key and thoroughly cleaned. Rough surfaces should be sanded to create a smooth surface.

- We recommend using a primer or undercoat for at more uniform finish. You can find our primers and undercoats here.

Can I make repairs and touch-ups?

Spot repairs and touch-ups are difficult to do without leaving a visible difference on the surface. If you do need to make a repair or touch-up, please see our recommendations below for our paints and plaster.

Paint: For the best results, we recommend applying a single coat of paint over the entire wall or ceiling that requires repair, using the same batch of paint originally used. This will ensure a consistent colour and finish across the surface. If a spot repair or touch-up is preferred, we recommend using the same batch of paint originally used. The lighter the colour, the easier it will be to get an acceptable result when spot repairing or touching up.

Plaster: For the best results on smaller damages, we recommend to apply an asymmetric patch of tape around the damaged area. Use sandpaper grit 220 to smooth the area inside the patch, then use a small trowel or paint brush to cover the area with a thin layer of plaster. Allow to dry for 12 hours, then gently smooth the plaster with sandpaper grit 220. Apply a very thin layer of Topcoat (diluted and mixed with 3 parts water to 10 parts Topcoat) directly onto the patch. Carefully remove the tape while the Topcoat is wet and allow to dry for 2-3 hours. In case of larger damages, we recommend re-plastering the entire surface for the best result.
